Even though the average crime show might resolve in an hour, not every murder case is closed quickly...or at all. Sometimes a body turns up and the police have no information at all: not the victim's identity, the killer's motive, nor a single credible suspect. Other times, everyone is fairly sure that a specific person is the killer, but the suspect isn't charged or gets acquitted somehow. In still other cases, justice is thwarted because of intimidating or violent action taken by the accused. Whatever the case, some of these cold cases stick in the minds of the public.
