The series is based on the popular video game Fallout which is set 200 years after the apocalypse. The story follows a community of people living in luxury fallout shelters who are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and they’re shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them. The series stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight), and Aaron Moten (Emancipation). Fallout is an upcoming American postapocalyptic drama television series created by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, and executive produced by Geneva RobertsonDworet and Graham Wagner for Amazon Prime Video. It is based on the roleplaying video game franchise created by Interplay Entertainment and now owned by Bethesda Softworks. The show depicts the aftermath of an apocalyptic nuclear exchange in an alternate history of Earth where advances in nuclear technology after WWII led to the emergence of a retrofuturistic society and a subsequent resource war. The survivors took refuge in fallout bunkers known as Vaults, built to preserve humanity in the event of nuclear annihilation. 219 years later, a young woman leaves behind her home in Vault 33 to venture out into the dangerously brutal, hostile, savage, and unforgiving wasteland of a devastated Los Angeles.
