2019 Freightliner Cascadia. Antenna grounding is is always needed, especially when the vehicle is mostly plastic and fiberglass. This greatly increases Antenna performance rx/tx (receive/transmit). It also greatly reduces RF interferences and static. You could be wasting your time and money with the best CB radio, coax, and antenna, without proper ground.
