EXPLORING GRAYTON BEACH STATE PARK

Follow
Time To Go

Grayton Beach State Park is one of our favorite parks in the Florida Panhandle. The 2,000acre park sits along a pristine stretch of the Gulf of Mexico. Western Lake borders the campground, offering fishing and paddling and beautiful views. A select few of the 59 campsites have private pathways to the lake, perfect for fishing or relaxing on the sandy shoreline. There are trails throughout the park for campsites that are not on the lake side. There are also 4 miles of hiking/biking trails. Our favorite walking trail runs along the coast where the trees create a canopy over the path, making a walk on a hot summer day enjoyable! We have yet to ride the bike path which runs through the woods, across County Road 30A from the park. That's on the bucket list! There is also a paved walking/bike path accessible outside the park entrance that runs the length of 30A through Watercolor, Seaside and Rosemary Beach. Many eclectic shops and restaurants await along the meandering path. Of course, a trip to Grayton Beach isn't complete without a meal at The Red Bar. A free park and ride trolley just up the road from the state park makes parking easy for a visit to the center of the town of Grayton Beach. The location of this state park offers a tranquil getaway, while many options await just outside the gate. That's why this park is at the top of our list!
