BMW X5 E70: Lowering the Vehicle with Coilover and Cold Press Springs | BMW X5 Performance Increase

In this video, we will specifically perform a lowering process for BMW X5 E70 models. We will see how we can increase the handling and performance of the vehicle using a coilover system and cold press springs. With these methods, you can also make your vehicle's appearance sportier.

BMW has always produced models that offer performance and luxury together. The BMW X5 continues this tradition with the E70 chassis, providing comfortable use in both urban and offroad conditions. However, like every vehicle owner, BMW X5 owners may also want to further improve their vehicle's performance and appearance.

Lowering a vehicle is a modification made to the vehicle's suspension system, improving handling and appearance. In this video, we will explain how to lower BMW X5 E70 vehicles using safe and professional methods like coilovers and cold press springs, instead of dangerous methods such as cutting or heating springs.

The coilover system consists of adjustable suspension components and allows for optimization of vehicle height, stiffness, and steering response. Cold press springs are made from highquality steel and are produced to suit the weight of the vehicle. These springs provide more precise control in the vehicle's suspension system and increase handling.

In this video, we demonstrate step by step how to perform the vehicle lowering process on a BMW X5 E70 model using coilovers and cold press springs. We also discuss the performance and appearance advantages you will gain from this process in detail. Enjoy!

1 Cutting Springs / Spring Cutting
The lowering process, which is performed to improve the vehicle's handling and appearance, is carried out by cutting the springs to avoid the cost of sport springs. This method jeopardizes both your safety and damages your vehicle. Original and sports springproducing companies produce springs that are suitable for the vehicle's weight and balanced. Cutting springs causes them to lose their properties and fail to perform their functions. The desired height is reached, but the shock absorber system and front assembly are damaged, and the vehicle's stiffness becomes inevitable.

2 Heating Springs / Spring Heating
Another method to lower a vehicle is heating the springs. In this method, the springs are softened by applying high heat and then brought to the desired size with the help of a press or the weight of the vehicle. This method, which seems more robust than cutting springs, is actually much more dangerous. It disrupts the chemistry of the springs and changes the density, resistance, and structure of the heated metal. The metal also loses its elasticity and becomes stiff. Therefore, heated springs can encounter problems like breaking in a short time since they completely lose their flexibility. It is inevitable to say goodbye to the shock absorbers shortly after this process.

A spring is a material that starts from a flat base and spirals upward. If you cut the bottom or top of the spring, it loses its flat base property, and the bottom spiral part will touch the ground. In this case, the center of gravity will not be properly balanced and will pose a danger in turns. The bottom surface of a cut spring does not make full contact with the shock absorber in turns, while the bottom surface of an uncut spring does.

Dangerous methods such as cutting or heating springs actually lead to higher costs over time. Remember, nothing is more important than your life. Safety must come first. Therefore, it is important not to resort to these methods and to prioritize your safety.
