Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the Thule Vector M Roof Cargo Box. This roof cargo box is one of Thule's premium options, when it comes to carrying cargo, your skis, your snowboards, your gear, on top of your vehicle, instead of taking up space inside of it. If you want something that has all the nice premium features, has a really nice for you look, I think this is a great blend of aesthetics and athletics. So here we have 2 options for our cargo box. What I have is the glossy version but you can also get the matte version.

If that's a look you like, both work the exact same way. It's just the finish that's a little different. With this box, you get 13 cubic feet of space for all of your gear, your equipment, your cargo. Now keep in mind that you do have a 165 pound weight capacity. Also, please follow the weight capacity of your crossbars or your roof weight capacity, whichever is the lowest.

Well 13 cubic feet doesn't sound like much, especially compared to the extra large versions of other Thule boxes like the Thule Motion. That is actually enough to carry 3 to 5 pairs of skis or 3 to 4 snowboards, as well as the gear and ski and snowboards of up to 3 people. As for your skis, what can carry yes, 3 to 5 pairs of skis. Keep in mind that the longest ski length that this can carry is up to 185 centimeters. If you need a longer cargo space, you can also take a look at the Thule Vector Alpine Box, which is designed especially for skis and snowboards.

You're gonna get a tapered aerodynamic design. So you can see here how you have a little bit of height here at the top and you taper towards the end. That's gonna help reduce your wind drag and noise as you're out on the road. Of course, any roof cargo box is gonna still have that drag and have that noise, but at least with this design, will minimize it. With a roof cargo box though, you wanna make sure that when you're out in the elements and it starts snowing, or it starts raining that the contents of your box are going to stay dry.

So you can see here how we have different design features that are going to help with that. You have a tapered lid, where it's thicker at the top and thinner towards the bottom, and that's just gonna help your water slide off the box. The whole box is made of a durable abs plastic construction, and that's gonna work together to make sure that your box stays weather resistant as well as fade and UV resistant. Especially since it's out there in the sun. A lot of the day, you wanna make sure that UV resistance is working to keep your box durable, but also relatively lightweight for its size. Once you close that lid, this automatically locks. Another of its features is that we have our key in the unlocked position right now. And as you can see, I can't take that key out that's so that you know, that it's unlocked and you're not gonna accidentally drive away with it unlocked. You have to turn it to the lock position in order to remove the key. And that's just another measure of security. Another safety feature is our slide lock system. So in order to unlock your box, you first have to have it in the unlocked position. And then you press this latch in order to release the latch on the inside. So as you can see with it in the unlocked position, you have a red tab, that is visible showing you that you don't have it fully latched. So my first impression of our slide lock latch is it can be slightly difficult to press, that you need a little bit of muscle to do so, as well as to lift up on this lid. So that can also be a good thing. Cause then, you know, it's secure and it's holding together. Note how those levers on the side, hold it up, as well as bend to close the lid, they are facing an alternate direction, that way you can access it on each side. You can tell it's a premium box with the different premium design decisions they put into it. So on the lid, you have a white interior that looks classy, but also is a difference or helps differentiate between the black at the bottom. There's a white on the top and it helps with the motion sensor light. You have an led light on each end of the box. So you can have that set to just be off, if you want to, or when you have it on, it is motion activated. So the instant you open the box, that's gonna turn on, on each side. A
