2023 has been a big year for semiconductors and USChina relations. President Xi Jinping’s November meeting with President Joe Biden in San Francisco happened while tensions between China and the United States. Semiconductors have been at the heart of those tensions, especially U.S. efforts to limit Chinese access to key semiconductor technologies.

Those same tensions were also responsible for legendary investor Warren Buffett to invest over $4 Billion into Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co ( TSM Stock ) only to sell it weeks later, starting a trend where Wall Street drops TSMC for semiconductor companies like ASML. We also discuss how Huawei's Mate 60 Pro appeared to be more advanced than should have been possible, given the sanctions imposed by the US on ASML's EUV Machines.
