Come on the first leg of our Christmas #flightfree adventure! Jared’s been working in Germany so we packed up the car to join him and bring him home for the holidays! Then we’re making the most of being in Europe and making a few stops for a #flightfree travel adventure.

You’ll see my fill up with gas, we traded our EV for my parents petrol car. One day I’d LOVE to travel further in our EV but with 170 miles range it didn’t feel that workable to make the 34 stops to charge along the way on my own with kids . We also could have done this all on the passenger train to only use public transport but sadly it wasn’t in our budget (it’s more expensive than flying or driving ) and would still need a rental car in places, so I figured driving my parents petrol car was a good cost/eco midway between flying and fully public transport.

We left at 4am and took @leshuttle you can get lower prices for overnight trips or trips within 5 days which is nice or you can pay more and get a fully flex ticket… which we didn’t do so you have to make that train time! .

I packed 2 meals to go ➡ waffles, and then pizza and oranges. And also activities ➡ pencils and paper, books, our @yotoplay and a few shows downloaded. We have a multi headphone splitter which means they can all watch/listen to one thing without everyone having to listen I love it!

And we made it 12 hours later! Now we’re enjoying Kassel for a few days before our next stop.
