Truthfully I don't know much about how this gooseneck clamp light came to be a permanent fixture of my grandpa's drill press, but it's always been ingrained in my mind whenever I thought of the drill press. It's obvious the lamp isn't for a drill press and was never even intended to be used as a shop light. When I restored the drill press I originally didn't intend to restore or include the light because it wasn't original. But after a few weeks I started receiving comments from subscribers that the lamp rightfully belonged with the drill press, since they had been a pair for so many years. My sentimental side won out and I restored this lamp and reunited it with the drill press.

I was unable to properly date the lamp, as it only has a single marking on it labeled 'Japan'. It's a long shot, but if anyone knows of specifics on this lamp I'll pin your comment!
