Dr. José François has championed innovation, recruitment, and retention initiatives for Manitoban family physicians during the largest provincial shortage of family physicians in Canada. He has supported family physicians and their patients as the academic and clinical lead for family medicine at the University of Manitoba and Shared Health, all while maintaining his own clinical practice. He has worked to improve family medicine as the driving force behind a diverse range of initiatives, accomplishing them via academic excellence, empathy, and hard work.
