DON'T let the Ignition Coil Damage itself - Here's how!

The ignition coil plays a vital role in producing the highvoltage electrical spark required to ignite the airfuel mixture inside the combustion chamber of a tiny petrol lawnmower engine. The coil tries to make up for the lack of spark by upregulating its voltage generation when it detects that not enough spark is reaching the spark plug.

With this modification, the engine will run more smoothly and a stronger spark will be produced by increasing the current flow to the plug. But as a result of the increased strain this increased voltage production places on the ignition coil, it produces more heat as it strives to meet the increased demand for electrical energy.

Over time, thermal damage may result from the ignition coil's increased heat production as it tries to feed more current to the spark plug. The coil's internal components may experience thermal stress and degradation as a result of operating at temperatures above their intended capacity. The breakdown of the insulating materials surrounding the coil windings could result in electrical arcing or short circuits.

Furthermore, too much heat may degrade the coil's magnetic characteristics, reducing its capacity to provide the voltage required for spark creation. In the end, the little petrol lawnmower engine's cycle of overcompensation and overheating may lead to frequent engine misfires, decreased power output, and a higher chance of coil failure.

Have a great day
