Known for been a France working dog, the Beauceron or Berger de Beauce as it’s originally known, was born in France in the XIX century. The French army in both world wars used this breed to carry messages, detect mines, collect traces, support command actions, find the wounded and transport food and ammunition to the front lines. However, despite his skills in war and hunting wasn’t a very popular dog, until in 1960 he began to participate in sports and dog shows, where he stood out for his personality, qualities and beauty.

Imposing, robust, muscular and strong, but at the same time with a very stylized and elegant body, Pastor Beauceron is a very special dog that weighs 70 to 110 pounds and measures 24 to 27.5 inches. His eyes are oval, dark and very expressive. He has a thick, dense, smooth coat of black, red and cinnamon color with distinctive brown, gray and firecolored marks.

Grooming: The Beauceron has a very easycare coat, a weekly brushing will be enough to keep it clean, shiny and away from ticks, fleas and dead hair. Temperament: Loyal, confident and courageous the Beauceron is a tender dog, intelligent, obedient and hardworking. Training: If you want to get the best results with the Beauceron, is best to avoid humiliation and abuse, as they are very harmful to training and the relationship with its owner. The more patient, positive and consistent is the education, the happier and more sociable the dog will be.
