The science of sports is vastly diffuse and quantifying all of the variables can be of extreme difficulty.
And that is for the simple fact that it involves humans, which come in all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.
Due to this variability and diffuseness, rationalizations to suit agendas, as well as confusing cause and effect, will be very evident. Either as a means of confirmation bias or to generate traction.
And one of those confusions that has been floating around in the world of competitive sports, especially those with somewhat traditionalistic mindsets as commonly evident in combat sports, is the following:
‘’Weight training makes you stiff.’’
