आपकी शादी को कई साल हो चुके हों लेकिन आपने सात फेरे नहीं लिये थे, तो आपकी शादी वैलिड नहीं है, यानी क़ानूनन आप पतिपत्नी नहीं हैं. दरअसल एक कमर्शियल पायलट कपल ने अपने तलाक़ केस को लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट को बताया कि असल में उनकी शादी तो हुई ही नहीं थी. उन्होंने एक संस्था से मैरिज सर्टिफिकेट लिया था, फिर उसे रजिस्टर्ड करा लिया था. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा हिंदू शादी तभी वैध होगी जब शादी से जुड़ी रीतियों का पालन हो.
