With summer starting and the temperature rising by the day, I decided the garage doors really needed some insulation. I chose to use Reflectix insulation. They only provide an R3 insulation value when used on garage doors, which is pretty low when compared to a fiberglass insulation kit which can provide a R8 value. There are a few other options to choose from, but I settled on using Reflectix insulation as a radiant barrier to help prevent heat transfer. I realized that a higher insulating value was pointless considering the garage is not temperature controlled and I cannot stop the humidity.
