Details on how to replace a faulty thermostat in a GE model ice maker.

If your ice maker fails to make ice properly or fails to release ice from the mold, this video provides instructions on how to take it apart and replace the internal thermostat and verify some of its internal parts.

Failure to make/release the ice could also imply other issues with your freezer as the internal thermostat in the freezer must reach a cold enough temperature (min of 8C) to close its internal contacts and allow power to flow through the mold heater, to release the ice.
