The FMD comprises of the following:
DAY 1 1090 total calories and a macronutrient breakdown of 10% protein, 56% fat, 34% carbohydrates.
DAY 2 through 5 725 calories and a macronutrient breakdown of 9% protein, 44% fat, 47% carbohydrates.

For a DIY version, use mostly or exclusively whole plant food ingredients.

This is Part 1 of a 3 part series.

Part 1 covers the side effects and benefits of the FMD and who shouldn't and who may do an FMD (according to page 111 from "The Longevity Diet" by Valter Longo, PhD). This video also covers how to do a DIY version at a high level and I share two surprising benefits that I personally experienced after multiple rounds of doing a DIY fasting mimicking diet.

Part 2 will be an in depth review of how to prepare for a DIY fasting mimicking diet which we call the "5 day reset". I'll cover exactly how to measure food (and provide a full menu) and provide a demonstration of how to measure your food on a food weight scale to get maximum results during your DIY reset.

Part 3 will cover frequently asked questions and answers, and tips for having a successful and (mostly) painfree experience.
