You can make indentations in the petals and blend in the bumps with a silicone spatula.

The cutter part (top part) is removed and used.
If you want to make pasta without a machine, use a rolling pin to spread the pasta thinly.
The machine makes the process quicker and less tiring.

↑I bought this set because it looked like a good deal, but I hardly used it except for the craft sticks. The diecutters are for sweets, so I don't think they are suitable for clay.
