Diagonal Gift Wrapping

Here is how to determine the size of paper needed.
Using traditional method, a 9"x6"x4.5" box will need a piece of 29"x23" gift wrap paper.
Using my method, choose the smallest side to be the height (4.5"). Then measure the length of the diagonal of the 9"x6" rectangle (works out to be about 11" in this case). Take the diagonal length and add 2 times the height (11+2x4.5) to get 20". So a 20"x20" paper will do the job instead of the 23"x29" needed for the traditional method.
