The underlying snow depth data was extracted from daily weather records from the Global Historical Climate Network (GHCN). All data is freely available on NOAA's National Climate Data Center website (https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/cdoweb/dat...) .

Spatial interpolation was performed using Pythonbased QGIS (http://www.qgis.org/) . The video was created using ffmpeg and Avisynth.

Please keep in mind that the interpolation is not perfect and, at times, will show some locations (particularly those close to mountains in the West) as having snow when in reality they did not.
