Pugs were originated in China and the black variation is no different. The first Pug originated in China over twothousand years ago. They were considered prized possessions by the Chinese Emperors and were called Pugs (or LoSze which is an early name for a Pug).

The Chinese sent Pugs as gifts to important people throughout Japan and Korea. They are considered to be a part of the American Kennel Club’s Toy group.
