Whenever you go to Waycross it’s an absolute must to catch L727 or the “Savannah Rocket” as I’ve started calling it. L727 is a daily Savannah to Waycross turn that brings intermodal and manifest from Savannah down to Waycross. About 95 percent of the time this train sports a 3 or 4 pack of SD40s leading and depending on where you can get them you can get them at speeds up to 60 MPH.
