Eight Mexican wolf pups are part of an effort to bring the subspecies back from the brink of extinction. In the 1970s, the wolves were almost completely eliminated, thanks to poachers, farmers and habitat loss. It’s estimated there are just 30 or so Mexican wolves living in the wild. But thanks to breeding programs, several hundred Mexican wolves have been bred in captivity. Those captivebred wolves will help replenish a species that nearly ceased to be. #InsideEdition
