Four downy American Kestrel nestlings are tucked into a gravelbottomed nest on private property near Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. The nest box is located on the side of a traditional limestonefooted barn, overlooking a rolling grassland that slopes away into folded hills and forests. Cornell Lab & Raptor Resource Project have teamed up to provide this new live cam.The kestrel is North America’s littlest falcon & packs a predator’s fierce intensity into its small body. It's number one of the most colorful raptors the male’s slateblue head and wings contrast elegantly w/rustyred back & tail. The female has the same warm reddish on her wings, back, & tail.

Egg laying dates for this nest were on May 815171921; hatching dates for the four nestlings were June 14161618. The 5th egg was non viable.
