Every Indian is more or less aware of the partition of India, in 1947, for the good or the worse. For some even after multiple generations, it is a wound, that is far from healing, for there is next to no effort has been made to provide any restitution or even any kind of solace. On the contrary copious policies have been made that made the trauma everfresh in the memory. And the sociopolitical situation in India still made the real victims, that is the majority to carry the burden of that trauma.

The intricacies of the partition and the nature of independence in 1947 are deliberately being shunned by historians. Did Congress ever make any effort to stop the partition?
