Where does the BikeERG fall compared to the other Best Air Bikes on the market?: https://www.treadmillreviewguru.com/b...

The Concept2 BikeERG is the latest addition to the brand’s lineup of industryleading rowers and SkiERG. The BikeERG is what we expect from Concept2 it’s durable, lightweight, and easy to use. I say easy, meaning uncomplicated it definitely provides an incredibly challenging workout!

We consider the BikeERG to be a hybrid between an air bike and an indoor cycling bike. It isn’t exactly like either machine, but it has features that make it similar to the two.

We recommend the BikeERG to those who love Concept2. This would make a great addition if you already have the RowERG and/or SkiERG. We also recommend it to cyclists looking for a large amount of resistance to pedal against, and if you’re looking for a great low maintenance piece of cardio equipment that will give you a highintensity, lowimpact workout. The BikeERG is targeted toward indoor cyclists and it’s found in Crossfit gyms, so it’s versatile.

The BikeERG only weighs 68 lbs because of the aluminum frame. It’s easy to move around and feels durable. It can also handle up to 300 lbs. What makes the BikeERG an air bike is the fact that the flywheel is a fan. The fan uses air as resistance to pedal against, providing an unlimited amount. There is also a damper on the side of the flywheel to control how much/little air comes into the fan. This translates into feeling more and less resistance. Your intensity determines how much resistance you feel when you pedal, too. The harder you pedal, the more resistance you’ll feel.

The fan does make noise so the Concept2 isn’t best in shared spaces. Wind also blows back at you when riding so we would like to see a removable wind guard available on a future model.

As far as positioning, it feels more similar to riding an indoor cycling bike because of the multigrip handles and a narrow, lightly padded saddle. Traditional air bikes have moving handles to give you a totalbody workout. The Concept2 BikeERG primarily works your lower body. The pedal stroke is a bit different than a spin bike though because of the clutch in the flywheel. The clutch allows the fan to continue moving when you stop pedaling. It’s kind of like riding a road bike when you stop pedaling to coast down a hill. Spin bikes use brake systems that stop the pedals and flywheel simultaneously.

The console consists of the PM5 Monitor which is found on other Concept2 machines. It displays your metrics and offers modes to create your own workouts. You can also connect to apps like Zwift and ErgData.

Overall, the Concept2 BikeERG is what we expect from Concept2 reliable and of excellent quality.
