Cleaning Hummingbird Feeders - WITHOUT SCRUBBING!!!

DIY With A Guy In The Chair

The video I have been promising for at least a year has now been finished:) I have been doing it this way for probably 20 years or so, my memory don't go any further then that:)

Please be safe when using the bleach, Gloves and Eye Protection a Must! This is easy and saves a lot of work, if you find that after 20 to 30 minutes your cleaning was not good enough to make you happy then add more bleach and let it soak longer, be sure to mix it around after adding more bleach and then put the feeder back in the solution, it works!

And be sure to properly rinse the feeding station so you don't hurt the birds and I find my nose is the best way to tell if it's completely rinsed clean of bleach.

Try to get the bleach that has at least 5% solution of Sodium Hypochlorite, I have a link below for you to see what I'm talking about:)

And it's up to you on how often you want to clean your feeders this way, you can do it every time you add new food or every other time, when it gets hot and muggy out here I find I have to do it every time I add new food and it depends upon how often you change your food out, I never go beyond 3 days without changing the food out.

Take care of our little friends and they will provide you with hours of fun watching them, Thank God for those little birds:)

Bleach:
