I visited the famous "Fuji Toyo Barber Shop" in Yoyogi Uehara.
The owner, Mr. Abe, comes from a family of three generations of barbers, starting with his grandfather's generation. Mr. Abe opened his own barber shop, which is modeled after a Japanese barber shop from the 1920s. Most of the shops with the atmosphere Mr. Abe idealized disappeared due to the Tokyo air raids, but he uses the remaining photos and materials as reference when designing the shop.

The space has an atmosphere similar to a classic hotel, with attention to detail such as the original radio that is still in use today and the menu written in brush, making it a wonderful space that even those of us who like longestablished barbershops will be impressed by. did.
