Ahoy! In this video Jack the Salty Dog and I solo sailour 1983 Cape Dory 28 around Santa Catalina Island, exploring new anchorages. We cruise the East end of the island near Avalon and coast along the backside of Catalina, anchoring at Catalina "Cat" Harbor at the isthmus of Two Harbors. We then haul up anchor and hook around the West End, passing Parsons Landing and Isthmus Cove, before anchoring at Cabrillo Beach. We show how we use the selftacking jib, a.k.a a clubfooted jib to tack with ease while single handed sailing. During our exploration, we also saw the following birds and wildlife:
