#med (Music.Every.Day)

Day 186 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023posting a video of piano music every single day!

Chant D'Amour (Song of Love) is by Irénée Bergé, a male French composer, conductor, and instructor who lived in the United States. Apparently, he composed many silent film scores, which I thought was a cool fact about his life!

I have a collection of 5 volumes of music called "The World's Best Music" by the University Society. This collection contains sheet musicmany famous pieces by composers throughout historical eras of music, and some pieces by "lesserknown" composers.

I have exhausted my collection of Royal Conservatory of Music Celebration SeriesI own three or four different editions of the music, and thought I'd start rummaging further afield for fun music.

This huge collection of music covers many different grade levels, but isn't officially put into any kind of levelled exam syllabus that I know of. The piece is expressive, and comes from a section of the collection called "Salon Pieces". It reminds me a little of Edward Elgar's Salut D'Amour, maybe because of the left hand pattern of bass note plus chords on the off beats. The middle section has fun flourishes and swirls of arpeggios and is very satisfying to play!

Tune in tomorrow for more of my #music.every.day experiment!
