This is a complete CDL Class A pretrip inspection with air brakes.
To pass your CDL license this is one of the major components.
The purpose of a pretrip inspection for the purposes of a driver's test is NOT to determine if the vehicle is safe.
Rather it's to demonstrate that you know the names of the major components of the vehicle and whether these are working and not damaged.
Because most of the components of the truck have either air or fluid in them, your mantra is: “secure, not damaged, not leaking.”
And no, you don’t get a checklist for this exercise; it must be done from memory.
