An adorable cat born with an extremely rare condition which means she has two faces has defied all odds to celebrate her first birthday.

Despite being born with a condition known as 'Janus', or craniofacial duplication, Kitten Duo leads a healthy and happy life in San Diego, California, where veterinarian Ralph Tran takes care of her.

Duo was born with two noses, two mouths and four eyes – though her two middle eyes fused into a larger one which was removed with surgery.

On July 14 this year, Duo turned one, despite the fact that most cats with her condition die just a few days after birth.
