On this episode of tuff sewing, I repurpose a moving blanket and create a cold weather vest. Like with all my projects, It always turns out different than what I expect when I get started on them. This was an exceptionally difficult build that caused me to use different techniques when attaching the panels together, resulting in the use of a lot of denim. The loose fiber fill made each panel very fragile until they were fastened together.
2nd large issue was the overpowering Blue...! It was so much blue that I really needed to break that up with pockets and denim accents. Its still too blue on the back but better than it could have been otherwise.
3rd challenge was my machine is too small to sew through .5 inches of fabric. It snapped my regular thread and I had to upgrade to outdoor synthetic thread. Machine survived although it was maxed out on this project!
Overall I'm really happy with the result!! I look forward to wearing this vest and adding to it in a future video.
