Can a Bouvier be a livestock guardian dog?
Lizzie was our first dog. She was a Bouvier. She did not work out as a livestock guardian dog but we learned lots of important lessons. The first lesson was that you don’t ask a herding dog to be a livestock guardian dog. The second lesson is that each dog has a temperament and a history and they might not be suited to a particular job.
