Cruz de Ferro, also known as the Iron Cross, marks an important milestone on the Camino de Santiago. The tradition of leaving a stone at the base of the cross was a significant spiritual experience of letting go of heavy burdens in my past. After my moment at the Iron Cross, I continued onwards, facing a steep descent into Molinaseca and by far the second hardest day on the Camino Frances. Shenanigans ensue when I make new friends along the Camino, and we even catch La Fiesta de La Encina in Ponferrada.
