OK! OK! I will finally address one of the most commonly requested topics... The upper chest!

To be clear, I'm not a bodybuilding coach, and while I have a tremendous amount of respect for the sport of bodybuilding, I'm more interested in aesthetics as a byproduct of health, vitality, and physical capability. That being said, bodybuilding can teach us a ton about aesthetics. So, if there is a body part we want to develop, we can look to bodybuilding for inspiration.

The upper chest is a body part that many feel stays underdeveloped relative the the rest of the upper body. While the standard push up is my favorite overall upper body pushing exercise, we can make a few modifications to focus in on the upper chest. While this normally isn't an interest of mine, and I feel it's a subject best left to the bodybuilding experts, I get enough questions about this to justify a quick video. So... to focus on the upper chest with push ups, we can keep a narrow grip with tucked elbows, elevate the feet, and use a reverse grip. We can mix and match these modifications to target our upper chests with different levels of intensity. And, what is always great about the push up is it's easily loadable with a vest or a backpack, giving us the opportunity to work in a variety of repetition ranges.
