Calcite Mine Slot Canyons is one of the best slot canyon areas in the park. The three other great areas for slot canyons are The Slot, the mud caves, Ladder Canyons (outside the park), and Domelands

The area was the site of the only operating calcite mine in the U.S. and put into emergency operation after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
