In this singledayofwork episode, Mike removes the forward cabin berth so we can get right back to basics and rebuild the cabin and chain locker up from the hull, and Charlotta works the port side hull, filling all the way along ready for fillandfair!

We've been thinking about the forward cabin for a while, and the fact that it had already been butchered by someone else in the past (at least we hope it wasn't built as we found it!) pushed us in the direction of ripping it all out and starting again with better materials and design. This is the main body of work it took to remove the berth and grind out the old tabbing, revealing our capacious fresh water tank and some interesting plumbing choices!

While Mike was doing that, Charlotta made a big step toward repairing all the grinding we had to do last year to remove the voidy gelcoat on the port side of the hull around the water line. That's all been washed out several times, and patched, so today was a matter of just catching the last remaining dodgy areas (not osmosis!), cleaning everything off with acetone, and filling it with gelcoat filler.

The next episode will see Mike finishing off the tabbing in the cabin, and measuring up for 2 new bulkheads one for the chain locker and one for the cabin it's self!
