❌ Since making this video I have learned that melamine wood in Canada and the US is potentially not safe so I went ahead and remade the enclosure using PureBond Aspen plywood • I Built ANOTHER DIY Hamster Cage?! this is just a PSA for my fellow Canadians and Americans since we don't have the same regulations for melamine wood other countries may have.
Safe wood; https://www.instagram.com/p/CO1QCjHgP... ❌
I did forget to mention in the video the cage has a total floor space of 1,152 SQ inches of floor space so 2ft by 4ft or 48" by 24". A while back a decision I made was to eventually only have one hamster (no I'm not getting rid of anyone to do that) that way I could dedicate more time to them and giving them a larger better enclosure. I still love using the detolfs for hamsters but I was looking for something with more floor space and height for bedding. If you're wondering what I've done with the detolfs they've been turned back into display cabinets for storage
