Bronco Heater Explained

Follow
Nashville Early Bronco

The Bronco heater never seems to work right. It might blow some air, but it's never hot. Today I walk through how the heater works and the things to check for to get your heater working right.

There are three knobs on the dash, defrost control, heat control and fan, and the temperature control.

Defrost control: Knob pulled out incoming air directed to windshield.

Heat and Fan control: Knob pushed in heater is shut off and air does not flow heater core. Knob pulled out Incoming air directed through heater core to windshield or passenger compartment.

Temperature Control: Knob pushed in No heat. Knob pulled out Gradually increases temperature.

Heater hoses: Coolant flows from intake manifold to temperature control valve. Then past temperature control valve to heater core and heats up the heater core. Then coolant flows back to the water pump.
