Philadelphia police identified the child known as the "boy in the box" on Thursday during a news conference.

The body of the little boy was found in a cardboard box on the side of a road in Philadelphia in 1957. The boy was nude, malnourished and fatally beaten.

According to Commissioner Danielle Outlaw, the child has been identified as Joseph Augustus Zarelli.
