Black to Light Blonde | 3 Step Tutorial

Don't want to spend hundreds at the salon for blonde hair? Well I've got the tutorial for you, especially if you're impatient like me.

I am not a professional, however, I've gotten all of this information from professionals and I've been implementing these tips at home for years.

I did this in two days.

There are three easy steps.

1. Stripping any previous dye out of your hair. (Unless you are coming from a natural color, if so you can skip step 1.) (~30 min.)

2. Bleaching your hair with 40 volume developer like I did, or if you are a little hesitant, you can go the safer route and use 30 volume. (If you are coming from a natural color, I would suggest using 30 volume and doing two separate bleachings, while using something like coconut oil or any other moisturizing treatment in between.) (~25 min.)

3. Toning with 20 volume developer using an ash blonde toner to cancel out brassiness. (~30 min.)

When you are finished, your hair will need some rehab, so I would suggest using something like Mane 'n Tail Hair Strengthener, coconut oil, or argan oil.

None of this video is sponsored, just using products I love.

In order, these are the products I used in the video:
(Everything is from Sally Beauty Supply)

don't be like me, use gloves. (cheap, you can find them anywhere)
Measured mixing bowl ($2.59)
Coloring brush ($1.59)
Colorfix with argan oil by One 'n Only ($15.19)
Prism Lites Blue bleach tub ($19.49)
Ion Sensitive Scalp Developer in 40 volume 32oz (or 30) ($5.99)
Wella Color Charm Toner in T18 "Lightest Ash Blonde" ($6.49)
Wella Color Charm Developer in 20 volume ($2.29)
Ardell Red & Gold Corrector packet ($1.09)
Ion Repair Solutions conditioning packets (2 of them) ($2.59 each)
Mane 'n Tail Hair Strengthener spray ($5.99)
(optional) TRESemmé Expert Selection Repair & Protect 7 conditioner from Walmart ($4.94)

Total: $73.83 (including disposable gloves)

Some of these things are optional, so you may spend less.
These are the online prices, I paid less than this at the store since I have a savings card with Sally Beauty.

Let me know in the comments how your experience went, and comment if you have any questions!
