BAKED MEAT SANDWICH! Vintage Cookbook Review & Recipes

Today I'm reviewing So Quick With New Bisquick, a Betty Crocker cookbook published in 1967. Join the fun as I prepare a recipe from this book Baked Meat Sandwiches.

I'm cooking through history and you're invited! Follow along with me as I prepare a recipe from one of my many vintage cookbooks. Will the results be delicious, or disastrous? Baked Meat Sandwich

biscuit crust & top:
2c Bisquick
1/2c cold water
2T mayonnaise

filling:
1 lb ground beef
1/2c grated onion
1/2c shredded swiss cheese
1/2c parmesan cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten
2T chopped parsley
1.5t salt
1/4t Tobasco sauce

Heat oven to 400. Grease 8x8x2 inch square pan.
Saute ground beef and onion together until beef is browned and onions are completely cooked. Remove from heat. Drain. Stir in cheeses, egg, parsley, salt, and Tobasco. Set aside.

Mix Bisquick, cold water, and mayonnaise together with a fork. Gently smooth dough into a ball on a floured surface and knead 5 times. With floured fingers, pat half of the dough into prepared pan. Spread meat mixture over dough. Spread remaining dough over meat mixture. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
