A concise introduction to the field of biomimicry and an explanation of why and how its practice equips us to build the sustainable and regenerative future of which we all dream and aspire. Andrew is a scientist and educator who enjoys scuba diving, producing music, and advancing conservation efforts—in addition to flying through the air and solving physics problems while skateboarding. He worked in nanotechnology, CRISPR research, and quality assurance chemistry before transitioning to classroom education. As an educator, he has spent over a decade teaching in public, private, and charter middle and highschools creating STEM education curriculum. He now is focused directly on biomimicry education and outreach on a local, national, and global scale. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
