American professional eater Randy Santel versus Big Sur's 150% bigger CaliMexican Carne Asada Burrito Challenge stuffed with fries and served with more seasoned fries, hosted by Big Sur Cantina in Madison, Wisconsin of the USA!! For my third competitive eating restaurant food challenge of 2024, I headed west from Milwaukee to Madison, Wisconsin which is the state capital of Wisconsin and home of the University of WisconsinMadison Badgers!! There, I visited Big Sur Cantina so I could attempt their giant California style Mexican Carne Asada Burrito Challenge which had to be finished in less than 12 minutes!! Some of my competitive eater friends were up on the Wall of Fame already, so I was hoping to join them!! The base burrito challenge that most people get is for one person to finish a roughly 3lb burrito made with 2 large burrito tortillas filled with juicy marinated carne asada, fries, queso oaxaca, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, Mexican rice, queso dip, and black beans. It is served wet and covered with more queso dip plus fresh pico de gallo. Normally, the challenge doesn't include a side of fries, but some people do receive more fries from what I can tell via past challenge photos. My guess is that Big Sur Cantina knew I was a professional, so they made my burrito about 150% bigger and gave me a side of fries in front and back to finish as well. They did not let me in the kitchen to film the making of the burrito, which is why there is no preparation footage in the video, so that does make sense, and they knew they were trying to sabotage me. I was trying to win my $34.95 CaliMexican carne asada and fries burrito meal free plus a sweet tshirt and spot on their Wall of Fame. Regardless of the malicious intent, BIG thanks to everyone with Big Sur Cantina in Madison, Wisconsin for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Special thanks also to all our amazing friends who came up that Saturday afternoon to watch and meet me!! We appreciate everyone in the Madison area and all around Wisconsin who watches videos and supports our hard efforts!! The next food challenge will feature a giant corned beef Reuben sandwich challenge northwest of Milwaukee in Hubertus, Wisconsin, and I hope you all enjoy it!!
