Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area in Tennessee | Hiking Twin Arches Trail with a Dog

In this video, we explore a bit of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation area, a part of the National Park System. This recreation area is in northern Tennessee, right on the the Kentucky border.

The main goal of this little trip is to do the 1.4 mile Twin Arches Loop Trail where we will see some very impressive arch formations. It is a different type of rock, and there are definitely not as many arches here, but this formation in particular is quite similar to some of the arches you might come across in the much more popular Arches National Park in Utah.

This trail is one of the most popular trails in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, and it is definitely understandable as to why. It is rated as moderate on All Trails, and it is possible to bring a dog, as long as your pup has decent physical abilities.

After we finished that trail, we checked out the Big South Fork East Rim Overlook, which was a short, paved walk with a fantastic view, and it even had a view finder for the color blind.

Once we finished up in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, we drove over to Pigeon Forge to do a bit of shopping at the Tanger Outlets. It was a little bit out of the way, but we cannot pass up those deals.
