The main maintenance my Belgien Shepherd or Belgian Sheepdog requires is brushing. And he needs it almost daily. It's not a big chore, but over time I have learned that different brushes help control different aspects of their double coat. My Belgian Groenendael collects seeds on his coat like there is no tomorrow, and pulling these out manually would be very difficult because all these seeds have hooks in them. The other problem is Jack sometimes develops a hair ball where all the hair gets knotted, but this is not all the time.

Our boy "Jack Flash" is a Belgian sheepdog or Groenendael. He is one of the 4 varieties of Belgian shepherds, The 4 varieties are the very popular Belgian Malinois, Tervuren, Groenendael and Laekenois. Athletically they are all similar, but vary in temperment and drive, and also between working and show lines.

This channel is solely for the purpose of trying to raise money for my dogs Cryptorchidism (his testicles did not drop) so he needs a procedure to have his testicles removed internally which is quite expensive here. Apparently they can become cancerous if not removed.
