➡ If you play bass guitar, and have a broadband internet connection with access to YouTube you've surely seen the sheer brilliance of ‪@CharlesBerthoud‬ by now. If not, I hope you have a spare change of pants nearby. Charles has taken solo bass playing to new heights over the last few years with his sensational videos covering everything from his arrangements of classic songs to his own original music. In this video, I have an absolute blast reacting to, and analyzing, his renditions of "Master Of Puppets" and "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica both played in completely different styles on a multitude of different basses. I break down the techniques he uses for both including slap and pop, doublethump, twohanded tapping and then dissect his beautiful arrangement for "Nothing Else Matters" with a masterful use of bass harmonics and chordal tapping. Charles is inspiring the next generation of bass players, and I have an insane amount of respect for it!
