Here's proving that homemade bread can be cheap and fast for any baking skill level if you integrate a few simple steps into your routine around the house. Or start in the morning during the spare few minutes as your tea/coffee brews and finish it when you get home from work. Six minutes total hands on time and 35¢ per loaf. Compare that to $24 in the store even for day old then multiply your loaves per year for a good pile of coin saved to spend on more interesting places in your pantry. Of course the taste is miles beyond factory made and you get heaps more satisfaction from even morning toast knowing it all came from your own hands.
