AWS Custom Config Rule --- System Lamda Invocation

Follow
Mark Bulmer

Hey guys, just a basic AWS Custom Config rule that gives you a status alert on your systemlamda function (if your systemlamda is executing on schedule correctly, without errors it will return a "COMPLIANT" status). This is a handy way to verify that your devops lamda codes are running as expected (without having to dive into the function logs every time).

Please link to the files below to get a better understanding for the Compliance Evaluation flow that's created with the various Evaluate Constructors in python: https://github.com/awslabs/awsconfig...

In our demo, all of our EC2's are considered compliant, if the lamda fuction returns with no errors, because we know we're setting them to be compliant when the "EC2_tagger.py" function runs.

For the video files, please link to the following (paying special attention to deploy them in order, because the second function references the first (and you must modify the code accordingly).

Lamda 1 , 'system lamda ec2_tagger.py'
